The Siemens SITOP PSU8600 is a power management system that goes beyond standard power supply functionality, offering intelligent energy distribution with selective channel monitoring and shutdown. It provides 24V DC with adjustable output voltage from 22–28V and up to 40 A total current across multiple channels. Each output channel can be individually switched on/off and monitored for current, voltage, and energy consumption via PROFINET, enabling predictive maintenance and energy optimization at the power distribution level. The unit supports battery backup modules for controlled system shutdown during power loss, and its diagnostic capabilities include overload warnings, under-voltage alerts, and remaining service life estimation of connected electrolytic capacitors.
