The Beckhoff CX7000 is a DIN rail-mounted embedded PC powered by a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, running Windows Embedded Compact 7 or TwinCAT/BSD real-time operating system. Despite its compact dimensions (82 x 92 x 62 mm), it functions as a full-featured PLC and soft-motion controller supporting up to 2-axis interpolation. The device includes two Ethernet ports (one for EtherCAT), a USB host interface, and optional serial or fieldbus connectivity via multi-pin I/O extension. With direct integration into TwinCAT engineering tools, the CX7000 provides an entry point into PC-based control for small to medium machine builders.
